At Selfridges, we want our products to fly off the shelves. Working as part of our Merchandising team, you’ll use your knowledge of stock management and replenishment to make sure that’s exactly what happens.

KNOW THE ROLE

Working closely with Buyers and Merchandisers across all of our fabulous stores, you’ll monitor the sales forecast of our Menswear department, ordering stock to meet demands. It’ll be up to you to stay up to date with what’s flying off the shelves; considering trends, events and promotions when planning your orders. You'll know exactly what's selling to maximise profitability and ensure we have the right stock in on time.

What’s more, you’ll liaise with each store to fully understand their needs and highlight any products that aren’t performing.  To do that you’ll need to build strong relationships, not only with high-end suppliers, but with our fantastic Buying teams too. You’ll also use Retek to its full potential to make sure sales are maximised while stock loss is reduced. 

KNOW WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You’ll need a solid background in retail and will ideally have experience in a luxury menswear environment. The team work with very short shelf lives and quick product turnarounds so effective organisation is key. As well as strong analytical skills, you’ll have the business know-how to spot trends and make the accurate forecasts that keep us ahead of the market. With the ability to build and manage relationships with external suppliers, you’ll be used to agreeing deliveries and orders, so you’ll already have great communication and negotiation skills. But more than that, you’ll know the market inside out and will help to bring all the best products to Selfridges.
