We are looking for a Capital Analyst to be based in our new offices in Leicester, focusing on managing the company's capital accounting systems including the fixed asset register and to ensure that they are fully compliant with statutory requirements, capital regulations, best practice and other statements of recommended practice in all financial areas relating to capital assets.

This role will also provide the relevant reporting on capital project balances and depreciation to the business and investment finance team.

KNOW THE ROLE

Reporting directly into the Finance Manager – Financial Accounts, responsible for all aspects of capital expenditure reporting, you will be focused on delivering effective, accurate capital expenditure financial reporting, including month end and to partner with tax advisors on processes such as audit, capital allowances and research & development claims.


Key responsibilities will include maintaining the integrity of the Coda fixed asset register ensuring it is accurate and up to date and reconciled to the nominal ledger. Alongside this you will manage the integrity of the fixed asset financial systems ensuring the effective production of information and reducing manual input and duplication, undertaking prompt investigation and resolution of any reporting inconsistencies between systems or asset reporting.
 
This role will also focus on providing key financial information and will focus on calculating and reconciling actual and forecast depreciation to strict deadlines. You will provide analysis each month to budget holders and project managers showing details of payments, commitments, income and expenditure as per the timetable. On a monthly basis, you will review, authorise and post monthly accruals, account reconciliations and journals.
 
Key business partners will be the wider finance team including Investment, IT, our transformation team, external auditors, tax advisors and Selfridges Group finance team. You will be focused in delivering robust, up to date polices and partner with these internal and external teams to deliver this.

The ideal candidate will be at Analyst level, ideally within a retail environment or a fast past paced commercial environment with strong attention to detail. Experience of Oracle E-Business Suite and Coda would be advantageous and the ability to build strong relationships across different levels and functions is key. You will also have strong excel skills, the ability to build, create and analyse business reports and the ability to work to tight high profile deadlines.
